Our New Kitchen

We took on yet another project at our house. This time my dad was in charge, he ripped up all the old counter tops, and the sink, and went for a fresh new look including a tile back splash.

Here's the BEFORE..
The finished project...AFTER!
We LOVE it!!!

Birthday wishes

I celebrated my 32nd Birthday this past weekend while in Duluth. Although I didn't get the things I hoped for like...
* A personal chef
* Housekeeper
* that Nikon D700 camera that I have my eyes on
* or just one.night.alone.with.my.husband

We did take a huge risk and took the kids out for a fancy birthday dinner. The kids went without play clothes, and put on their nice linen duds. They sat on fancy chairs, put napkins on their laps, and drank water out of real glass cups...that's right no kids cups here! To our surprise they did very well thankyougod! Scott was mortified when I asked the waitress to take a picture of this shocking moment, I wasn't about to ask her to take another one.
After dinner we stopped for ice cream cones at a cute little ice cream parlor right on Lake Superior. I couldn't ask for a better Birthday, even if it didn't come with a housekeeper!

A weekend away

Our weekend in Duluth was so much fun! Here are some highlights...

Gavin ran his first big "race" just like dad. He was pretty proud of his ribbon!We spent oodles of hours at our hotel water park. Isabel and Owen are part fish, they didn't want to ever get out. Gavin was more on the cautious side...We made a short drive up to Gooseberry Falls, and saw the beautiful waterfalls. Attempted to get all three together for a picture, which is next to impossible.So I decided to go the individual route.
Isabel was all about posing on every rock she saw.
Gavin was WAY too busy throwing rocks in the water, to even have a single second to look at me, in fact I'm pretty sure he was tuning me out.Owen enjoyed eating the rocks, and twigs he found on the ground. Oh what a third child will do to you. I would've never let that happen with the other two.
It wasn't the most relaxing weekends away, but for sure a change of scenery. New memories were made and that's all that counts!

All in a day...

Yesterday my patience was taken to a whole new level. It started in the morning as I was trying to multi-task. I shortly learned that I couldn't make breakfast, un-load the dishwasher, and get everyone ready for the day. I turned my back to flip the pancakes and then found this guy willing to help. I then escaped for awhile to run some errands, and when I returned I found this monkey helping out daddy in the garage.

And oh what a mess he was!

He wasn't very happy with me when I took him inside to get cleaned up. He figured out how to push a bin over to the window, then climbed up on it to see what he was missing outside.

Later on in the evening after a bath, he then moved over to his favorite cupboard, and proceeded to empty it out.

When he got in trouble for that he moved over to removing all the air return covers on the first floor! Seriously this kid is unstoppable, I'm exhausted after chasing him all day long. I'm beginning to think I'm in really big trouble as his big brother didn't start these shenanigans until he was mobile at 15months old.

And whatever happened to playing with toys?

O turned 10 months, and is into more trouble than ever. He's certainly taking after his big brother, which means we are in BIG trouble. A recent trip to the cabin, was a whole new adventure for him. New cupboards, rooms, and stairs to explore!
