Mr....

This little Mr. has captured my heart, oh I love him! There's nothing better than his snuggles, and his random "luv eww mommy". Or whenever he falls, or gets hurt he comes running with all sorts of tears, "Ewww Diss it mommy" and suddenly a kiss from Mama makes it all better.

Today has been one of those days, my sweet little Mr. has been so thoughtful, kind, and generous. Earlier today I was taking one of the hundred Tums of the day, and I think he thought it was candy as he asked for some. I told him no it's mommy's medicine. He looked at me and said "Your heart on fire again?" "I diss it for ewww!!!" So sweet!

"Making a berry pie for ewww Mommy!"

So I guess all the gray hair he gives me on a daily basis is all worth it! Someday he won't want to snuggle with me anymore, or make me sand grass pies. He'll always be a Mama's boy though :)

Visitors

For the first time in many years we didn't spend the Memorial Day weekend at the cabin. It seemed that everyone had their own thing going on this year, but we can't wait to get up there and enjoy an entire weekend at the lake.
Instead this year, we stayed home and visited my dear friend Pam. They were in town from Chicago, and we were able to take the kids out to enjoy the beautiful weather! We started out with a quick trip to the Farmers Market, then to Lake Harriet. The kids had so much fun playing with Olivia, so much fun it was hard to get them to stop for a photo. So glad we got the time to visit, and can't wait to see them again. I just love long weekends like this, especially when spent with good friends!

Class or 2022!

Miss Isabel graduated from Preschool today! They had quite the little ceremony too, complete with real graduation caps! WHAT?! The class sang songs with props, got diplomas, and crossed over the bridge...officially a Kindergartner!! Then ended with a ice cream sundae extravaganza!
Sorry you will have to wait until 2022 for the open house :) Here are some highlights from her big day....

Green thumb

The garden planting has begun! This year gardener Scott went with a different technique called square foot gardening. He has planned this out since winter, and was very anxious to start planting. Here are his 2 very inexperienced assistants that have to "help" too.

So this year we have expanded quite immensely...need I say more! We have 61 red onions, 14 tomato plants, 12 various pepper plants, 14 watermelons, 128 stalks of corn, along with lettuce, pumpkins, broccoli, green beans, carrots, and sunflowers. Can't forget about oregano, basil, cilantro, and I'm sure I missed some! I'm pretty sure we'll be setting up a produce stand in a few months. Let's hope he has a green thumb!

Dance and Mud Soup

Monday nights for the past 8 or so months have been spent at dance class. Mom usually brings Isabel to class and Gavin stays home with daddy to do projects. Tonight was the last night of dance class, it was a HUGE deal, she could not wait for class tonight! They got their awards, and this year being it was her second year she got a trophy!! She's been talking about it for a week now!

Isabel and her "2nd year" trophy!

When we got home we found Gavin doing this....

"I'm making mud soup for YOU mommy!"
He later showed me that he WAS helping daddy install a new garage door. "See ma we fixed it!" As he has all of Scott's tools out to help his daddy. Never a dull moment :)

"Cheap Cheap"

Isabel and Gavin got to visit auntie Bridget's classroom this week. It was her annual raise a chick unit for her Kindergartners. We got a call early on Wednesday that there had been a few cracks in the eggs, and even a chirp! So on Thursday they went to check them out.

Gavin was so excited and went right up to them and said, "Hi chicks!"
and dove right in to pick one up.
Isabel the more reserved one, would rather not get too close!

Trouble!

We've been a little busy around here lately! Besides the normal cooking, cleaning, laundry, organizer, dishwasher, loving mommy I am...I sometimes get little surprises like this one! During a recent daycare circle time, Mr. Gavin quietly sneaked away up to his room. Apparently he was looking for something, then got quickly distracted. Suddenly I was hearing loud strange noises, so I ran up there to find this....
He thought it would be oh SO fun to dump his entire 5 drawer dresser on the floor, along with every toy, puzzle, and his entire bed! For the love of god, I don't have time for this!!! Good thing he's so darn cute! After I faked cried, I got a "I sorry mama, I help you pick up".
